First International Online Conference Challenges of the Mind about new dimensions
The call for the First International Online Conference Challenges of the Mind
about new dimensions in Theatre Training from 15 to 17 June 2020 received a great
resonance among participating professionals from more than 50 countries.
It was the initiative of the G.Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre, the World
Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT/ITI together with the ITI/UNESCO Network for
Higher Education in the Performing Arts to invite to an Experts' Colloquium about new
developments in online and hybrid training as part of the VI International Theatre and
Education Festival-Forum “Nauruz”, which turned spontaneously into a World
Conference as direct answer to the fast change of teaching realities due to the
inhibiting actions that happened for safety and health reasons on a global scale.
The speakers discussed various aspects of recent developments and the
necessary innovations in theatre education as a response to cultural changes and the
new opportunities of digitalization and global exchange.
The professional discourse between theatre teachers has proven extremely
useful. The new situation shows a rise in artistic and methodological creativity
amongst practicing teachers and an increasing interest for joint research activities as
well as opportunities to exchange knowledge and best practice.
The speakers and participants express their interest to establish a yearly Global
Conference for new theatre training methods during the “Nauruz” Festival-Forum in
Kazan as well as further Experts' Meetings for research and development under the
artistic-scientific direction of the World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT, Research
Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), together with the G.Kamal Tatar
State Academic Theatre and the ITI/UNESCO Network for Higher Education.
